Report: Workshop on “Peace with the Environment” was held in Tehran Peace Museum
A half-day workshop on “Peace with the Environment” was held in Tehran Peace Museum on 27 December 2012.
Over 20 members and volunteers of the museum attended the training program which covered interesting topics. During this workshop, which was taught by the Peace & Environment group of the “Council for Spreading Culture of Peace among Children”, using different methods and materials such as short films and animations, debate and brain storming, group games and so on, the participants learned about issues such as common concepts of peace and environment, role of individuals to prevent the polluting of the environment, environmental attitudes, air pollution inside homes, green nourishing, Tehran’s statues of environment (SOE), successful projects, and also different ways to teach environmental concepts to children.
Tehran Peace Museum in collaboration with other active NGOs in this field, especially the Peace & Environment group of the “Council for Spreading Culture of Peace among Children” intends to hold more workshops on culture of peace and environment for more participants and interested people in the near future. Through this way, the museum hopes to promote culture of peace in the society through respect to the environment.
The “Council for Spreading Culture of Peace among Children” consists of different NGOs, civil society organizations, private sector and interested individuals to promote and advocate culture of peace in the society from. The main goals of this council is building opportunity for all the children to live in a society which is secure and full of respect to the humans, love, understanding others and coexistence.
