On 16 January 2012 members of Tehran Peace Museum,  and some  members of PSR-Iran (Iranian affiliate of International Physicians for Prevention of Nuclear War IPPNW) had a meeting with Finish Under-Secretary of State for foreign and security policy Mr. Jaakko Laajava who has been appointed by UN Secretary General as the facilitator for the 2012 conferenceon on Middle East Nuclear Weapons Free Zone -MENWFZ.

In that meeting Dr.Shahriar Khateri had a presentation regarding TPM awareness programs and recent efforts by IPPNW, Peace Boat and other relevant organizations regarding the MENWFZ then Mr Laajava listened to accounts of some survivors of Chemical weapons attacks and their appeal for abolition of nuclear weapons.

TPM members also expressed their interest to contribute in 2012 conference and to play and active role to support that conference and pave the way for aMENWFZ.

Mr Jaakko Laajava first expressed his sympathy with victims if chemical weapons attacks and admired the awareness programs and the volunteer works done by them in the peace museum to raise awareness about the Nuclear weapons danger then he welcomed the idea of active participation ofNGOs in 2012 conference and that he will take this opportunity to do his utmost to take an step forward toward MENWFZ.
