ICAN Wins the Noble Peace Prize 2017

Ican-NobelThe International Campaign to Abolish Nuclear Weapons (ICAN) won the Nobel Peace Prize in 2017. This campaign consists of 460 members from 100 countries and was established in 2007.

 

The two non-governmental organizations of the Tehran Peace Museum and the House of Eternal Culture from Iran are also members of this organization.


ICAN was awarded this prize "for its work to draw attention to the catastrophic humanitarian consequences of any use of nuclear weapons and for its ground-breaking efforts to achieve a treaty-based prohibition of such weapons".


Tehran Peace Museum congratulates ICAN on this auspicious occasion, and hopes that the nuclear weapons treaty enters into force as soon as possible.
