Former UN under Secretary-General for Disarmament Affairs visited Tehran Peace Museum
Former United Nations under Secretary-General and High Representative for Disarmament Affairs, Mr. Kim Wan-Soo visited TPM on Monday, August 21st, 2017, along with Ms. Chun Misung, the first secretary of the embassy of the Republic of Korea, as well as the representative of the National Authority of Chemical Weapons Convention.
In this program Mr. Kim visited TPM with the guide of CW survivors, and subsequently attended a meeting representing other educational and artistic activities of the museum. He further reiterated "In order to succeed in raising public awareness about chemical weapons, it is imperative for international organizations to work closely with NGOs," underscoring the volunteers' commitments to the museum, and their efforts to publicize the implications of the use of chemical weapons. He also attached paramount importance to the role of victims in this direction.
In the end, Mr. Kim was deeply appreciated and offered TPM emblem for his disarmament activities.
