“International Day of Peace” Celebration in the Tehran Peace Museum
The chemical weapons survivors of the Iran-Iraq War and volunteers of the Tehran Peace Museum (TPM) hosted an International Day of Peace celebration on Tuesday, 22 September 2015. Held at the TPM, the event was in collaboration with the National Secretariat of the International Council of the Museums (ICOM).
The ceremony was opened by one of the war veterans, also a member of the TPM, who delivered the museum’s message on this occasion. This was followed by the head of the Iranian counterpart of the International Council of Museums (ICOM) who delivered a speech. The head of the Cultural Heritage, Handcrafts and Tourism Organization also addressed the audience.
The ceremony concluded with the launching of the book entitled, "Islam, Messenger of Peace" written by Dr. Fazlollah Mousavi.
Participants of the ceremony also visited two side events of the museum, which included an exhibition of children's drawings on cloth with the theme of peace and also an exhibition of metal sculptures.
