The Visit of Ambassador of Austria

 

Mr. Stephan Scholz, Austrian ambassador to Iran, visited TPM on November 8th, 2017 by TPM's invitation.


Accompanied by the volunteer docents of TPM and CW survivors he had a tour of the museum; Thereafter he got acquainted with the other cultural and international activities of TPM and had a friendly chat with the volunteer members of the museum.

 

Referring to the history of cultural relations between Iran and Austria, the ambassador stated that he has been deeply touched by the narrated events in the museum and disappointed to know that the international society was not able to act effectively to stop the chemical attacks during the war.

 

Moreover, he appreciated TPM for taking notice of the actions of Professor Gerhard Freilinger; the Austrian physician, in treatment of chemically injured people during the Iran-Iraq war and as well, the presence of the Austrian specialists in United Nations Fact Finding Missions.

"Not only did Iran receive the medical aids, but also provided such aids for the international society and all these medical experiences in the frontline have to be universally exchanged." Said ambassador Scholz. He wished to be able to establish mutual cooperation grounds between TPM and Austria Cultural Forum in Tehran.

 

TPM's plaque and a version of the documentary "Memories For All Seasons" produced by Mostafa Razzaq Karimi was presented to Mr. Scholz at the end of this visit.
