The Opening of the “My Face for Peace Exhibition” at TPM

 


“My face For Peace” Exhibition was opened in the TPM’s Art for Peace Gallery on May 9th, 2016. Distinguished Iranian and Non-Iranian officials were among the participants. This exhibition is a selection of the photographs, collected by Iranian-German artist, Mr. Saeed Dastmalchian and his wife, Cordula and displays 23 photos and their peaceful messages.


The opening began with the welcoming message of the TPM’s representative which explained the role of social activities in promoting a culture of peace. Then, Ms. Ines Carstensen from the cultural department of the Embassy of the Federal Republic of Germany mentioned the 71st anniversary of the end of the World War II on May 8th, 1945 and talked about the 30 ongoing wars around the world and the role of the awareness, especially in the youth which have not experienced such circumstances before. Ms. Carstensen praised the theme of raising awareness as well as the message of hope which this exhibition has for its audiences.

The final speaker, Mr. Dastmalchian talked about the important individual responsibility to change ourselves in order to change the world around us. He continued with presenting an introduction on the exhibition. “These photos have been collected after an announcement in My Face for Peace website. During 4 years, 10500 people from 133 countries have participated in this project” said Mr. Dastmalchian. “This collection has been published in a book with the same name” he continued. At the end, Mr. Dastmalchian thanked the TPM for the opportunity to display this exhibition in Iran and concluded with a sentence from one of the participants of the project from Morocco: “We all have a beautiful light within. We just sometimes forget it is there. So let’s live this life to learn, share and shine and spread love all over the world. “
